Bay FC to Become First Women’s Professional Soccer Team to Play at the Ballpark
San Francisco, Calif. – The San Francisco Giants are proud to announce that Oracle Park will welcome professional soccer back to the ballpark this summer, as Bay FC—San Francisco’s National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team—hosts the Washington Spirit on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 1 p.m. PT. The match, presented by Visa, will be a milestone event as the first-ever women’s professional soccer match played at Oracle Park.
The event marks a new chapter in Oracle Park’s 25-year history of hosting memorable sporting moments—from the MLB All-Star Game and playoff clinches to international rugby exhibitions and sold-out concerts. The August match extends that legacy, bringing top-tier women’s professional soccer to one of the city’s most iconic venues and continuing to spotlight San Francisco as a global stage for world-class competition.

“We’re honored to welcome Bay FC and the NWSL to Oracle Park for what will be a truly historic moment,” said Stephen Revetria, President of Giants Enterprises. “Oracle Park has long been home to iconic events across sports and entertainment, and we’re proud to host our first-ever women’s professional soccer match this summer. The match represents a milestone not only for the ballpark, but for the entire Bay Area community.”
Bay FC, founded in 2023 and already one of the NWSL’s most exciting expansion teams, has been making headlines by setting attendance records, attracting world-class talent and expanding access to the sport across the Bay Area. The team’s match against the Washington Spirit—broadcast nationally on CBS—will showcase 19 players with international experience, including Bay Area native and World Cup champion Abby Dahlkemper, as well as stars like Asisat Oshoala, Racheal Kundananji, Ashley Hatch and Trinity Rodman.
“Oracle Park is an iconic venue and has proven across its 25-year history to be a gathering place for the most passionate fans in sports. We’re eager for the opportunity to create league history alongside the Washington Spirit by being the first professional women’s team to play at Oracle Park and thankful to the San Francisco Giants for their support of our ambitions,” said Bay FC CEO Brady Stewart. “Playing a match in San Francisco allows us to connect with our fans from around the Bay Area in an incredible setting.”
Oracle Park has served as a dynamic stage for top-tier soccer, drawing passionate crowds for both international and domestic competition. The venue welcomed more than 37,000 fans in 2006 when the U.S. Men’s National Team defeated Japan ahead of the FIFA World Cup. In the years that followed, legendary European clubs like Manchester City, Everton and Juventus brought global energy to the ballpark with thrilling exhibition matches. More recently, Oracle Park welcomed over 40,000 fans for a 2022 international friendly between Real Madrid and Club América, with another 30,000 for the LaLiga Summer Tour in 2023, further cementing the ballpark’s reputation as a premier West Coast destination for world-class soccer. Now, with Bay FC’s home match on August 23, Oracle Park will build on that tradition and cement its place in the future of women’s sports.
Visa, the presenting partner of Bay FC’s Oracle Park match, is the team’s Official Payment Services Partner and a Founding Partner of Bay FC. Visa is also a proud partner of the San Francisco Giants, further deepening its ties to the city’s sports community. As part of Bay FC’s partnership, the Visa logo is featured on the right sleeve of the Bay FC jersey and core to the partnership is direct financial investment in local youth and Bay FC current players, putting an emphasis on financial equity, leadership, education and improving communities throughout the Bay Area. For the Oracle Park match, Visa and Bay FC will partner on an onsite fan activation on the day of the match and provide fans in attendance with a co-branded giveaway. Additional details about the fan event and promotional item will be announced at a later date.
