April 27, 2023 (San Francisco, Calif.) – LaLiga is bringing the excitement of Spanish professional soccer to North America this summer. The highly-anticipated LaLiga Summer Tour will feature four top teams – Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, Real Betis Balompié, and Real Sociedad – playing matches in Mexico and the US.
For the first time ever, LaLiga clubs will go head-to-head in friendly matches on Mexican soil. The tour kicks off on Wednesday, August 2nd, with Atlético de Madrid taking on Real Sociedad at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey, followed by a heated derby rivalry between Sevilla FC and Real Betis at Estadio Akron in Guadalajara. The finale, a thrilling double-header at Oracle Park on Saturday, August 5th, will feature Atlético de Madrid vs. Sevilla and Real Betis vs. Real Sociedad.
Tickets are on sale now at sfgiants.com/soccer and one ticket will grant fans access to both matches.
Soccer is becoming a regular occurrence at Oracle Park, following the sold-out Real Madrid v Club America match in 2022 and having previously hosted teams from the Premier League, Serie A, MLS and Liga MX as well as international matchups headlined by Team USA, Japan, Iceland, Senegal and Mexico.
“We’re excited to bring soccer back to the ballpark this summer,” said Joey Nevin, Vice President of Giants Enterprises. “This will give our Bay Area community the unique opportunity to attend two top-tier, international matches in one location and we look forward to another unforgettable experience at Oracle Park.”
LaLiga Summer Tour, in partnership with Relevent Sports, aims to expand its fan base in Mexico and the United States, connecting with young and diverse soccer enthusiasts. This tour, the largest organized by LaLiga outside of Spain, is a testament to the growing passion for soccer in North America.
Óscar Mayo, Executive General Director of LaLiga, says the tour is an “exciting opportunity to reach new fans in North America by bringing the history and passion of LaLiga to North America.” LaLiga North America CEO Boris Gartner adds that showcasing the teams’ talent on this continent will “further develop the league’s deep connection with fans across Mexico and the United States.”
Tickets are available now at sfgiants.com/soccer and one ticket will grant fans access to both matches. For fans interested in elevating their match experience, information for private suites or group opportunities can be found by submitting this interest form.
