Giants Enterprises, the entrepreneurial arm of the San Francisco Giants dedicated to developing new ventures complementary to the Major League Baseball franchise, announced today that it will host the LaLiga Summer Tour on Saturday, August 5 at Oracle Park. LaLiga Summer Tour, the top Spanish professional league’s platform to organize tours in the summer window, will bring four teams – Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, Real Betis Balompié, and Real Sociedad – to North America for three friendly matches this summer. The matches will take place in Mexico and the United States, and give soccer fans a chance to experience LaLiga in North America.
To kick off the tour, Atlético de Madrid will take on Real Sociedad at the Estadio BBVA in Monterrey, Mexico on Wednesday, August 2, and Sevilla FC will face Real Betis in a derby rivalry fixture at the Estadio Akron in Guadalajara, Mexico. These matches will mark the first time that two LaLiga clubs will play head-to-head on Mexican soil. The tour will culminate in a double-header at Oracle Park in San Francisco on Saturday, August 5 where Atlético Madrid will play Sevilla FC and Real Betis will face Real Sociedad.
This double-header match marks the return of international soccer to San Francisco as Oracle Park has hosted numerous matches featuring clubs from the Premier League, Serie A, MLS and Liga MX as well as international matchups headlined by Team USA, Japan, Iceland, Senegal and Mexico. Most recently, the ballpark hosted the Inaugural Soccer Champions Tour, a marquee match between Real Madrid CF and Club America in July 2022.
“We look forward to welcoming LaLiga and these incredible clubs to the ballpark this summer,” said Joey Nevin, Vice President of Giants Enterprises. “As the only domestic tour stop, we believe San Francisco is the ideal location to host matches of this caliber and will once again unite the enthusiastic soccer community within the Bay Area and beyond for another unforgettable experience at Oracle Park.”
This tour is representative of LaLiga North America’s goal to continue bringing new fans to LaLiga, its clubs and players with Spanish-speaking audiences – particularly in Mexico. In partnership with Relevent Sports, the premier soccer events and media company in North America, the LaLiga Summer Tour will be the biggest tour LaLiga North America has organized to-date since it launched in 2018. Relevent will organize and operate the tournament.
“The LaLiga Summer Tour is an exciting opportunity for us to continue reaching new fans by bringing the history and passion of LaLiga to North America,” said Óscar Mayo, Executive General Director of LaLiga. “LaLiga is in a period of rapid transformation as more teams are improving and the athletes are reaching entirely new fan bases globally. There’s a real passion growing in Mexico and the United States for the sport, which we hope to tap into with this tour.”
“We are thrilled to bring our teams to North America and showcase the talent and excitement of LaLiga to fans across the continent. We believe that these matches will continue to foster deeper connections with our fans across Mexico and the United States,” added Boris Gartner, CEO of LaLiga North America.
An exclusive ticket presale for the August 5 matches at Oracle Park will be available starting Wednesday, April 26, with the public sale beginning Thursday, April 27. One ticket will grant fans access to both matches. For access to the presale opportunity, all fans are invited to sign up here. Visit sfgiants.com/soccer for more information.

The tour is supported by ESPN and SKY, the official broadcasters of LaLiga in the United States and Mexico, respectively, and will be responsible for the production of the matches. As a result, LaLiga fans will be able to enjoy each match exclusively on the platforms.
