The Scottsdale Giant Race
The third annual Scottsdale Giant Race Complete Game 9k, Strike 3 Mile, Kids Race & Family Relay is on Saturday, March 5th. Join us at Spring Training, take a jog, catch some rays, and maybe even take in a ballgame or two.
Please read the following information before you register. If you don’t, you won’t know what the last line says…
Race Distances – take a moment to try and remember who “won” Spring Training last year. Don’t recall? Thought so. Just like Spring Training, The Scottsdale Giant Race is not necessarily about winning/losing. It’s about kicking off the year properly by getting loose and back to running form, and having fun. Our 3 Mile & 9 Kilometer distances will help you do just that.
9k/3 Mile Start Times – 7:00am for the 9k, and 7:15am for the 3 mile. Early enough to finish before the heat, and late enough to feel OK about a mimosa afterward.
- Spring Training Single Game Baseball Tickets – these officially go on sale to the public in January, 2016. However, registering early for the Scottsdale Giant Race will allow you into a special pre-sale to buy tickets for the Giants home games during race weekend. Expect a pre-sale invitation sent to the email you register with. Tickets will be limited and we cannot guarantee baseball tickets to all runners.
Packet Mailing – you have the option of choosing to receive your bib/timing chip in the mail via United States Postal Service (roughly 5-10 days before race day) for a $15 fee. You must register before 11:59pm on February 16, 2016 to take advantage of this option. PLEASE NOTE: if you are traveling from the Bay Area to Scottsdale, we highly recommend that you pick up your bib onsite at packet pick up on Friday, March 4.
Kids Race/Family Relay – these events take place on Friday March 4th in the evening during packet pickup hours. We’ll start at 4pm on the field at Scottsdale Stadium.
Awards – yes, there will be a fancy schmancy award for doing all four Giant Race events in 2016. We just don’t feel like telling you what it is yet.
